Paul entered the legal profession in 1990 when he joined Cuff Roberts Solicitors in Liverpool as a trainee Legal Executive, having previously been employed by the Lord Chancellor’s Department between 1984 and 1990. During his time working at the Courts, he gained value experience of the workings of the County and High Court process and a taste for the law.

Between 1990 and 2000, Paul qualified firstly as a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives in 1996 and thereafter as a Solicitor in 2000.

In 2004 Paul became the head of the firm’s Debt Recovery team taking over the role from Jonathan Hogg after he left to join GWL. After the merger of Cuff Roberts and Halliwells in 2005, Paul continued to head the Liverpool Debt Recovery team but in 2009 also took over responsibility for the Manchester team. Paul joined Hill Dickinson in 2010 and undertook a case load of more general Commercial Litigation work but also continued to deal with problematic debt and insolvency matters for existing clients. In 2012 he left to develop a project which saw him working in both Preston and Manchester until eventually returning to Liverpool in July 2013.

The beginning of July 2013 saw Paul reunite with Jonathan Hogg, his old mentor and colleague from his Cuff Roberts days, when he joined GWL as an Associate Solicitor to enhance the growth and development of the firm’s Commercial Debt Recovery and Litigation operation.

Paul provides his clients with a combination of a strong legal background and wealth of commercial experience coupled with a desire and ability treat every instruction equally, irrespective of value or complexity. Client care is paramount to Paul and he continues to strive to ensure that clients are entirely satisfied with instructions being dealt by him personally or under his supervision.
